LAST UPDATE MARCH 2020
What are they?
In/Out choke tubes are divided into two categories, the In/Out +50 mm ones, which, once mounted inside the choke tube seat, stick out 50 mm past the barrel and the In / Out +100 mm that conversely after installation protrude beyond the muzzle of the barrel by 100 mm.
Advised and advised against uses
The use of In / Out choke tubes are transversal; in fact they can be purchased both for sport shooting and for hunting activities, yet we highlight that their application for hunting is certainly preponderant.
When to choose them, then? We recommend using the In / Out choke tubes if the barrel of your shotgun is short, that means, its length ranges between 60 and 70 cm, and you are aiming at medium and long distance shooting. In the first case you should choose an In / Out + 50 mm choke tube, in the second, an In / Out + 100 mm one.
Whereas your shotgun barrel length is medium, i.e. ranging from 70 and 75 cm and you are aiming at long distance shooting, opt for an In/Out +50 mm one. Always remember that with the current fast burning rate powder marketed for loading the cartridges there is no more need to lengthen the barrel of the gun beyond 80 cm.
We advise against the use of the In / Out +100 mm choke tubes in superposed shotguns and side-by-side shotguns as the barrel convergence could even prevent their simultaneous use.
Materials and models
In/Out choke tubes boast strength and are provided with special internal profiles enhancing their shooting effectiveness. They are made of 42CrMo4 alloy steel, coated with Nickel + DLC and are available in different models: 12-, 16-, 20-, 28-, and 36- gauge. Namely as for 28- and 36- gauge they are only available in the +50 mm variant.
The range includes from 3 to 5 types of constriction sizes depending on the model: IC (****), M (***), IM (**), F (*), XF. They are moreover available in the Steel Shot version to be used in combination with lead-free ammunition, for hunting in wet areas. For these models you shall find constriction sizes ranging from the IC (****) up to the F (*) in the catalogue. Our In/Out +100 mm choke tubes are exclusively available with IM, F and XF constriction sizes.
Maintenance and cleaning
In/Out choke tubes require routine maintenance and cleaning; you can use our specific cleaning kit or an ultrasonic cleaning machine. Pay attention to impacts which could affect its integrity. Always use the key to carry out the assembly and disassembly of your In / Out choke tube.
